DSD and Maths Society are heading to the Science Museum in London to visit the Winton Maths Gallery and other exhibits. Students will be free to explore the museum at their own pace and look at areas their studies may not cover.
Meeting in the Hive, the bus will leave UEA at 8:30am sharp, so please arrive early to be checked in. You'll then travel to london and visit the Museum for the day, before leaving the Museum at 6:30pm, and returning back to the University for 9:00.
A supplementary lecture will also be held by a member of the School of Maths earlier in the week to look more in depth at aerodynamics of aircraft, one of the main themes of the Winton Gallery. This lecture is open to all, and we reccomend you go along to get the most from this trip. Please click here to access the details.
This is a free trip, fully subsidised by the Maths Society and Do Something Different.
Please take a free ticket above to book your place. If you are unable to attend the event, please contact Union.Opportunities@uea.ac.uk to cancel your space, as there will be other students that will want to take advantage of the opportunity.
We're committed to making sure all Do Something Different events are as accessible as possible for all students.
This event has no special accessibility requirements.
Any attendees with individual concerns about their accessibility are advised to contact Union Opportunities (Union.Opportunities@uea.ac.uk) for additional support.
What is Do Something Different?
The Do Something Different Programme is about trying a new activity and sparking your interests! We aim to encourage greater student interaction from across schools, liberations and courses that build your knowledge and skills as individuals. Perhaps you've been looking to try a new sport, attending a live music performance, or dabbling in an academic subject that piques your interest? We collate a wide variety of different activities happening across campus - from sports and games, to trips and extracurricular lectures!
There's always something happening every single day, and most events are absolutely free or cost very little! The best events will return during the Do Something Different Festival in Semester Two - a week-long celebration in which teaching is suspended for you to try a huge range of activities! Stay tuned for the full Festival programme coming soon!
If you had a great time at a DSD event, make sure you head to the website and leave your feedback and stories! Tell us about your ideas and what you want to see under Do Something Different.
